Word Ladder is a word game with a start word and an end word. Change one letter at a time to climb from one to the other, and every step along the way has to be a real word.
A ladder of rungs shows how many moves you have, and par is the fewest steps possible. There are 8 levels, from 3 letter words up to 5 letter words, and a new ladder every day that is the same for everyone.

How to play
- Open the game and start at level 1, or tap Today's ladder for the daily puzzle.
- You see a start word and an end word. Change one letter to make a new word, then another, until you reach the end word.
- Tap a letter of the next word, then tap its new letter. Press Go when it turns green. Only real words are accepted.
- Green letters already match the end word.
- Each step uses a rung, so reach the end before the rungs run out. Undo takes a word back, but the move stays spent. The bulb shows you the next word, and each level has a few of them.
- Par is the fewest steps possible, and reaching it earns three stars. Win three ladders to open the next level. On a keyboard, type letters, use the arrows to move and press Enter to go.
Tips
- Work from both ends. Think of words near the end word, then look for a way to reach one of them.
- Change the letters that do not match the end word first. A letter that already matches usually stays.
- Stuck? Try a different vowel. Changing a vowel, like cat to cot, often opens a new path.
