A classic nonogram you can play with no Wi-Fi.
Nonogram is a quiet picture puzzle. The numbers beside each row and column tell you which squares to paint, and slowly a hidden picture appears. Every puzzle comes built into the app so it plays with no Wi-Fi. It’s free to play, and it’s coming soon to the App Store.

What is a nonogram?
You may know it as paint by numbers, griddlers or hanjie. It’s a grid of blank squares with little numbers along the edges. Follow them, and a picture appears. No guessing, no math. Just a calm bit of logic, one square at a time.
How to play
- Each number says how many squares in a row to paint. A 5 means five squares next to each other.
- Read the numbers from left to right, or top to bottom. The groups come in that order.
- Two groups in a line always have at least one blank square between them.
- Mark a cross on any square you know stays blank. It helps you see what’s left.
- When every row and column matches its numbers, the picture is done.
Tap a square to paint it, or drag along a line to paint several at once. A short tutorial walks you through your first little 5 by 5 picture, so you’ll get the hang of it in a minute.
Big nonogram boards, easy on the eyes
The board is soft and light, with no clutter around it. A few things make it extra easy to see and to enjoy:
- Pinch to zoom. Boards of 15 by 15 and up zoom in, so the squares get bigger under your finger.
- Numbers that grow. The clues follow your phone’s text size setting.
- High contrast. One switch makes the lines and painted squares darker.
- Highlight row and column. The line you’re working on stands out.
- Your pace. Turn the timer on or off. Turn hints on or off. Let finished lines cross themselves out.
Five levels and a picture every day
Start with Basic, a tiny 5 by 5. Then Easy at 10 by 10, Medium and Hard at 15 by 15, and Expert at 20 by 20. The Daily Challenge brings a fresh picture each day, and if you finish every day of the month, that month’s trophy turns gold. Every picture you finish lands in My Collection. The menus come in 15 languages.
Questions
Do I need Wi-Fi to play?
No. Every puzzle, the daily ones too, comes built into the app, so you can play with no Wi-Fi. Ads, and the videos you choose to watch for a hint, do need a connection.
Can I play this nonogram with no ads?
The game is free, and ads help pay for it. You will see a banner, occasional full-screen ads between puzzles (never before your first win), and optional rewarded ads for a hint or a second chance. Remove Ads is a one-time purchase that takes away the banner and the ads between puzzles. The videos stay, but only when you choose one.
Is a big nonogram too hard to see on a phone?
Boards of 15 by 15 and up pinch to zoom, so the squares get bigger under your finger. The clue numbers grow with your phone's text size setting, and High contrast makes the lines and painted squares darker.
What if I paint the wrong square?
With Three hearts, a wrong square shows right away and costs a heart. Run out, and you can start again or watch a short video for a second chance. Prefer Free play? Turn it on in Settings: no lives, and you can undo any move.
