Spelling Hive is a word puzzle with seven letters on a flower. Six mint petals sit around a coral middle. Make words of four or more letters, and every word must use the middle letter.

Letters can be used again and again. Longer words score more, and a word that uses all seven letters earns a big bonus. Reach the goal rank to clear a level, and keep going if you like, all the way to Every Word.

How to play

  1. Open the game and start at level 1. Each level shows a flower of seven letters and a goal rank.
  2. Tap petals to spell a word, then tap Enter. Words need 4 or more letters, and each one must use the middle letter.
  3. You can use a letter more than once in a word.
  4. A 4 letter word scores 1 point. A longer word scores 1 point a letter. A word that uses all seven letters earns 7 bonus points.
  5. Delete takes back a letter, and Shuffle mixes the petals. Your found words are listed on the page.
  6. Reach the goal rank to win the level, and play on if you want more. If you give up before the goal, the game shows every word. On a keyboard, type letters, press Enter, Backspace deletes and Space shuffles.

How do the ranks work?

The ranks run Hatchling, Buzzing, Humming, Forager, Honey Maker, Hive Hero, Golden Comb and Every Word. Each one needs a share of all the points on the flower, and Every Word means you found them all.

Can I lose?

Only if you give up. Reach the goal rank and you win, and you can keep playing. If you give up before the goal, you see every word and can start the next puzzle.
