Terms of Use
Plain terms for Sift, Chartra and Mahjong Solitaire Otto. Apple also applies its own standard licence agreement to apps bought from the App Store.
What you are buying
A licence to use the app on devices signed into your Apple ID. You do not own the software itself and you cannot resell or redistribute it. That is the ordinary arrangement for App Store apps and Apple’s agreement governs it.
Subscriptions
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period, at the rate shown at purchase.
- You can manage or cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops the next charge; access continues until the paid period ends.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you buy a subscription during the trial.
One-time purchases
A lifetime purchase is a single charge with no renewal and no card kept on file. It unlocks the app on any device signed into the same Apple ID, including devices you buy later, restored through the app’s Restore button.
Purchases made under earlier pricing remain valid permanently. We do not remove access to something you already bought.
Refunds
Apple handles all payments and all refunds. We never see your payment details and cannot issue a refund ourselves. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your data
Our apps run on your device. They have no accounts, no servers and no uploads — your photos, documents and contacts are never transmitted to us, and we could not access them if asked. See the privacy policy for the detail.
Because there is no server, there is also nothing for us to restore if you lose your device. Your own backups are the only copy.
What we do not promise
The apps are provided as they are. We do not warrant that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Specifically, and because these apps delete things: always confirm what you are deleting. Every destructive action shows you a count and a size first, and photos deleted through Sift go to Recently Deleted where iOS keeps them for thirty days. Beyond that, you are responsible for your own backups.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted by the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use an app after a change means you accept it.
