Mancala Stones: play mancala online free

Mancala is an old game of counting and sowing. Pick up the stones from a pit, drop them one by one around the board, and try to collect more in your store than your opponent.
This is the six-pit version, also called Kalah, with 4 stones in each pit. Play the computer on Easy, Normal or Hard, or share one screen with a friend.
Also called: play mancala online free, mancala against the computer, kalah game, two player mancala, mancala
How to play
- Open the game and choose Easy, Normal, Hard or 2 Players.
- Tap one of the pits on your side. The ones you can play glow. Keys 1 to 6 work too.
- The stones from that pit are dropped one at a time, going round the board. Your store gets a stone each time you pass it, and your opponent's store is skipped.
- If your last stone lands in your store, you get another turn.
- If your last stone lands in an empty pit on your side, you capture the stones in the pit across from it, and they go to your store.
- When one side runs out of stones, the game ends. The bigger store wins. Tap Undo, or press U, to take a move back.
Tips
- Count before you tap. A pit whose stones reach your store exactly gives you another turn.
- Look for a capture on every move. An empty pit of yours across from a full one is a chance.
- A teal ring shows where your last stone will land. It is a good way to learn.
Questions
Is Mancala free, and do I need to download anything?
Yes, it is free. Mancala plays right in your web browser with no download, no sign-up and no ads on the site. Just open the page and start.
Can I play Mancala on my phone or tablet?
Yes. Tap a pit to play it. On a wide screen the board lies flat, and on a phone held upright it stands tall. On a computer, use the mouse, the keys 1 to 6, or the arrow keys with Enter.
Can I play with a friend?
Yes. Choose 2 Players and take turns on one screen.
How hard is the computer?
On Easy it picks a pit at random, so a beginner can win. Normal looks a couple of moves ahead and makes a slip now and then. Hard looks much further ahead.
