Checkers: play checkers online free

Looking for a quick game of checkers online? This one is free and ready as soon as the page opens. You play the red pieces against the computer, and the board follows the real rules.
If you have played at a kitchen table, you already know how it goes. Jumps are forced, so you have to take a capture when one is waiting. Get a piece all the way across and it is crowned a king.

How to play
- Open the game. You play the red pieces at the bottom of the board.
- Tap one of your red pieces, then tap a glowing square to move it. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys to move the blue ring and press A to pick up a piece and A again to put it down.
- If a jump is waiting, you must take it. Only the jumps will glow, so you cannot miss it.
- Press B (or the B key) to back out and choose a different piece.
- Reach the far side to crown a king. Clear the computer's pieces, or leave it with no moves, to win.
Keyboard: arrows, A and B. Phone: the on-screen pad.
Tips
- Look for forced jumps before you move. A forced jump can pull your piece out of position.
- Keep your back row at home as long as you can. It stops the other side from getting a king.
- Trade pieces when you are ahead. Fewer pieces on the board makes your lead count for more.
