Chinese checkers is a race. Ten pieces start on one point of a star-shaped board, and you hop them across to the opposite point before anyone else does.

Play the computer with 2, 3, 4 or 6 players. You are red, at the bottom point. Pieces can hop over each other in chains, so one move can carry you a long way.

How to play

Open the game, pick 2, 3, 4 or 6 players, and choose Easy, Normal or Hard.
Tap one of your pieces. The holes it can reach glow.
Tap a glowing hole to move. You can step to an empty hole next to you, or hop over any one piece, yours or not, into the empty hole beyond.
Keep hopping in the same turn to chain jumps. Hover over a hole to see the path the chain takes.
A piece that reaches the far point stays there. Fill the far point with all ten pieces first to win.
Tap Undo, or press U, to take a move back. Press Esc to let go of a piece or to pause.

Tips

Look for long chains of hops. Pieces spread out in a line make a ladder across the board.
Do not leave a straggler behind. The last piece home often decides the race.
Your pieces make bridges for everyone. Build one, hop along it, and watch that you are not building one for your opponent.

Yes. Tap a piece, then a glowing hole. A tap that lands near a hole snaps to the nearest legal one. On a computer, use the mouse, or the arrow keys with Enter or Space.

How many players can I play with?

Choose 2, 3, 4 or 6 players. You are red at the bottom point, and the computer plays the other colours.

How hard is the computer?

Easy often wanders and wastes moves. Normal looks two moves ahead, loosely. Hard looks two moves ahead sharply and finishes the race faster.
