Want a game of Spades without finding three other people? You sit at the table with Sam across from you as your partner, against Rosa and June. All three are computer players, and the cards are dealt as soon as the page opens.

It is partnership Spades. You and your partner bid together, and your team scores when it makes its bid.

How to play

  1. Open the game and choose Easy, Normal or Hard. Play to 300, or a short game to 150.
  2. Look at your hand and bid how many tricks you can take, from 0 to 13. Tap a number, then tap Bid. Your bid and your partner's bid add up to your team's bid. A bid of 0 is called nil.
  3. Follow the suit that was led if you can. Spades are trump, and nobody can lead a spade until one has been played.
  4. Cards you can play lift up with a gold edge. If you tap one you cannot play, a short note tells you why.
  5. Make your team's bid and you score 10 points a trick, plus 1 for each extra trick (a bag). Miss it and you lose 10 points a trick you bid. Ten bags cost 100 points.
  6. The first team to 300 wins (150 in the short game). A team that falls to minus 200 loses.
