Nine Men's Morris is a very old board game. Each player has nine pieces, called men. Line up three in a row to make a mill, and you take one of the other player's men.

You are Light and go first. Play the computer on Easy, Normal or Hard, or share one screen with a friend. There is a Hint button if you want some help.

How to play

Open the game and choose Easy, Normal, Hard or 2 Players.
First, take turns placing your nine men on the points of the board. Tap a point to place a man.
Three men in a row on a line make a mill. When you make a mill, tap one of the other player's glowing men to take it. Men in a mill are safe, as long as other men are left.
When all the men are placed, slide a man along a line to a free point. Tap a man, then tap where it goes.
Down to three men? Your men can fly to any free point.
You win when the other player is down to two men, or cannot move. 30 moves each with no man taken is a draw. Tap Undo, or press U, to take a move back. Press H for a hint.

Tips

Do not get your men boxed in. If you cannot move, you lose.
Block the other player's two-in-a-row early, before they close the mill.
Press H for a hint when you are not sure. It is a good way to learn the shapes.

How hard is the computer?

Easy plays by feel. It takes a mill about half the time and never blocks. Normal looks a couple of moves ahead. Hard looks much further ahead.
