Cribbage is a classic card game for two, played to 121 points. Here you play against the computer, with a real cribbage board drawn on the screen and two pegs a side that leapfrog as you score.

Each hand has three parts. You throw two cards to the crib, you peg by laying cards up to a count of 31, and then you show your hand. The game counts every score item by item, so it is a gentle way to learn.

How to play

  1. Open the game and pick a level: Gentle, Steady, Sharp or Expert. Win a level to open the next.
  2. You get 6 cards. Pick 2 and send them to the crib, which scores for the dealer.
  3. A starter card is cut. If it is a jack, the dealer scores 2.
  4. Now the play. Take turns laying cards while the count goes up, never past 31. Hitting 15 or 31 scores 2, a pair scores 2, three of a kind 6, four of a kind 12, and a run of three or more scores one a card.
  5. If you cannot play without going over 31, it is a Go and the other side scores 1. The last card scores 1.
  6. Then the show. Each hand is counted with the starter, non-dealer first, then the dealer, then the crib. Fifteens score 2 each, pairs 2, runs one a card, four of one suit 4 (5 with the starter), and a jack of the starter's suit 1. First to 121 wins.
