Common questions
My scan came out crooked or dark.
Retake it with the page flat and the whole document in frame. Chartra detects edges from the camera preview, so a page that runs off the screen has no edge to find.
The text I copied is wrong.
OCR runs on your device and struggles with handwriting, very small type and poor lighting. Rescanning with more light usually fixes it.
I paid to remove ads and they came back.
Tap Restore on the purchase screen. The unlock is tied to your Apple ID rather than to the app install.
Where are my scans stored?
On your device only. Chartra has no account and no server — if you delete the app without exporting, the scans go with it.
