Fancy a spin in space? You fly a small ship around a field full of drifting rocks. Turn, thrust and fire to break them up. Fly off one edge and you come back in on the other.

Big rocks split in two, then two again. Clear every rock to finish the wave, then take on the next, a little faster each time. The glowing look is drawn by the game itself.

How to play

  1. Open the game and pick Easy, Normal or Hard.
  2. Turn with the left and right arrow keys (or A and D), thrust with the up arrow (or W), and press Space to fire. Hold Space to keep firing.
  3. On a phone or tablet, touch pads appear. The turn pad is on the left, and thrust and fire are on the right. On a tall screen they sit in a strip under the field.
  4. Shoot a big rock and it splits into two smaller ones. Shoot those and they split again, until they are gone.
  5. Clear every rock to clear the wave. The next wave has one more rock and a bit more speed. From wave 3 a saucer joins in.
  6. Lose a ship and you come back once the middle is clear, with a few seconds of shield. Press Esc or P to pause.

Is Star Rocks Blaster free, and do I need to download anything?

Can I play it on my phone or tablet?

Yes. Touch pads show up on the screen: turn on the left, thrust and fire on the right. On a computer, use the arrow keys or WASD, with Space to fire.

What is the difference between Easy, Normal and Hard?

Easy gives you five ships and slower rocks. Normal gives you three ships. Hard also gives you three ships, with faster rocks, more of them and a sharper saucer.

Does the game save my place?

Yes. The field saves as you play. If you close the page or reload it, the game comes back paused right where you left it.
