Perfect Wave is a free surfing game you can play in your browser. You ride three waves at three breaks, and the swell moves the way a real one does. It peels along the reef, stands up and throws its lip.

The aim is to stay in the pocket, the steep part just ahead of the whitewater. The pocket runs away from you, so you have to chase it. Get deep enough and you can tuck into the barrel.

How to play

  1. Press UP and DOWN to carve up and down the face of the wave. Climbing trades speed for height. Dropping trades height back for speed.
  2. Press RIGHT to trim forward for drive. Press LEFT to stall and let the pocket catch up with you.
  3. Press A to pump the face for speed. Drive up into the lip and you launch an air. In the air, LEFT and RIGHT spin the board and B grabs the rail. Land pointed down the line.
  4. Press B on the water to tuck in behind the curtain when the lip is throwing over you. The barrel pays more than anything else.
  5. Press A after the heat to paddle back out.
