Snake Arena is a snake game with company. You steer a green snake around a walled sand arena and eat apples to grow, while computer snakes go after the same food.

Reach the length goal for the level to win. Level 1 is a small arena with one slow rival and a goal of 12. Later levels bring bigger arenas, up to four rivals, stones and faster snakes. At a wall or a body the snake pauses for a moment, so a late turn can still save you.

How to play

  1. Open the game and play level 1. Win a level to open the next.
  2. Steer with the arrow keys or WASD. On a phone, swipe anywhere or use the on-screen arrows. The snake waits for your first move.
  3. Eat apples to grow. A gold apple counts as three. Reach the length goal for the level to win.
  4. The computer snakes want the same apples, so go for the ones near you.
  5. Do not crash into a wall, a stone or a body. The snake pauses for a moment first, so you can still turn. You have 3 lives, and a crash keeps half your growth while your body is left as pellets.
  6. If a rival runs into you, it is bonked and you score 50. Esc or P pauses.

Can I lose?

Yes. You have 3 lives, and a crash costs one. You keep half your growth after a crash. When the lives run out it is game over, and you can try the level again.

Do I play against other people?

No. The rival snakes are all computer snakes. There are no outside players.
