Memory Match is a game of matching pairs. The tiles lie face down. Flip two at a time, and if they match, they stay up. If not, they turn back, so remember where they were.

Level 1 is a small board with no limit on tries and a short look at the start, so it is easy to begin. There are 24 levels, with bigger boards and fewer tries as you go, and the faces get harder to tell apart. Fewer misses earn more stars.

How to play

  1. Open the game and start at level 1. Win a level to open the next.
  2. Tap a tile to turn it over, then tap a second one.
  3. A matching pair stays face up. If the two do not match, they turn back after a moment, or as soon as you tap the next tile.
  4. Find every pair to win. From level 2 you have a set number of tries, shown on screen. Run out and the round ends, and you can try again.
  5. Peek shows every tile for a moment, once a round, but caps your stars at two. Restart deals a new board.
  6. Fewer misses earn more stars. In Settings you can turn on a timer. On a keyboard, use the arrows to move, Space to turn a tile, P to peek and Esc to pause.

Is Memory Match free, and do I need to download anything?

Yes, it is free. Memory Match plays right in your web browser with no download, no sign-up and no ads on the site. Just open the page and start.

Can I play on my phone or tablet?

Yes. Tap a tile to turn it. On a computer, click, or use the arrow keys and Space.

Can I lose?

Level 1 cannot be lost. From level 2 you get a set number of tries, and if they run out the round ends. You can try again, go to an easier level, or head home.

How do stars work?

Fewer misses earn more stars. Using Peek caps a round at two stars.
