Memory Grid Challenge: a free memory game for adults

Memory Grid Challenge is a calm memory game and brain teaser. A grid of squares lights up. Watch which ones, then tap them back from memory.
There are two ways to play. Pattern has 8 levels, from a small 3 by 3 grid up to 6 by 6, and the lit set grows by one square each round. There is no clock on your taps. N-back has 5 levels, with one square lighting at a time. Tap Same place when a square lights where it did a few steps back.
Also called: memory game for adults, brain teaser game, pattern memory game, n-back game, memory grid challenge
How to play
- Open the game and pick Pattern or N-back. Levels open in order, and the game remembers where you got to.
- In Pattern, watch the squares light up. Then tap those same squares, in any order. A tap on the wrong square costs one of your 3 hearts.
- Find every lit square to clear the round. The next round adds one more square. Clear all the rounds to win the level.
- In N-back, one square lights at a time. Tap Same place if it lit in the same spot one step back. Later levels look two or three steps back.
- A wrong Same place, or a match you miss, costs a heart. Lose all 3 hearts and the level ends, and you can try again.
- On a keyboard, use the arrow keys to move and Enter to tap. Space or M is Same place, and Esc or P pauses. In Settings you can turn on extra time to look.
Tips
- Group the lit squares into a shape, like a line or a corner, and tap the shape back.
- Say the squares to yourself, like top left, then middle. Words help a pattern stay with you.
- Start with level 1, and turn on extra time to look if you want a slower pace. There is no hurry.

Yes, but gently. You have 3 hearts, and a wrong tap or a wrong Same place costs one. If they run out the level ends, and you can try it again or go back to an easier one.
What is n-back?
N-back is a mode where squares light one at a time. You tap Same place when the square is in the same spot as it was a set number of steps earlier. Level 1 looks one step back, and later levels look two and three.
