Maze Muncher is a maze chase game. You steer a little mint green muncher through a maze and eat every dot, while four beetle critters roam the paths. Touch one and you lose a life.

A power berry turns the tables. For a few seconds the critters are scared, and you can catch them for 200, 400, 800 and then 1600 points. There are 12 levels, three mazes that get bigger, and 3 lives each. Level 1 is the small Garden maze, and the critters are slower than you.

Also called: maze chase game, dot eating maze game, eat the dots game, maze game online, maze muncher

How to play

  1. Open the game and play level 1. Win a level to open the next.
  2. Steer the muncher with the arrow keys or WASD. On a phone, swipe anywhere on the screen or use the arrows by the maze. The muncher waits for your first move.
  3. Turns are saved up until the next corner, so press early. Turning back around is instant.
  4. Eat every dot to clear the maze. Keep away from the critters, because a touch costs one of your 3 lives.
  5. Eat a power berry to scare the critters for a few seconds. Catch them while they are scared, and each one scores more than the last. A caught critter runs home as a pair of eyes.
  6. Clear the maze to win the level. Lose all 3 lives and the game is over. The game saves as you go, and Esc or P pauses.

Questions

Is Maze Muncher free, and do I need to download anything?

Yes, it is free. Maze Muncher plays right in your web browser with no download, no sign-up and no ads on the site. Just open the page and start.

Can I play on my phone or tablet?

Yes. Swipe anywhere on the screen to steer, or tap the arrows next to the maze. On a computer, use the arrow keys or WASD.

Can I lose?

Yes. You have 3 lives in each level, and a touch from a critter costs one. If they are all gone, the game is over and you can try the level again. The critters are always slower than you, so you can outrun them.

Do the critters get harder?

Yes. In each level they move faster, stay scared for less time and come out sooner, and the mazes grow bigger. They always stay a little slower than the muncher.
