Futoshiki Signs is a number puzzle with little signs between the squares. Fill the grid so every row and every column holds each number once, a bit like sudoku.

The twist is the signs. Each one sits between two squares and points at the smaller number. Every board has exactly one answer that you can work out by thinking, and there is no game over. There are five levels, from a 4 by 4 grid up to a 7 by 7 one.

How to play

  1. Open the game and pick Gentle, Easy, Medium, Hard or Expert. The grids run from 4 by 4 up to 7 by 7.
  2. Fill every square with a number. Each row and each column uses every number from 1 up to the size of the grid, once each.
  3. Each sign sits between two squares and points at the smaller number. If a sign points at a 3, the square on the other side must hold something bigger.
  4. Tap a square, then tap a number. Tap the same number again to clear it. Turn on Notes to jot small maybes.
  5. A repeated number, or a sign pointing the wrong way, turns red and shakes. Erase, Undo and Hint are there to help.
  6. Fill the whole grid to win. Your game saves as you go. On a keyboard, use the arrows and the number keys, N for notes, Backspace to erase, U to undo and H for a hint.
