Flags of the World Quiz shows you a flag, and you name the country. It is a friendly way to learn the flags you know and the ones you do not. There are 194 flags, and you can play the whole world or one region at a time.

Pick the name from a few choices, or type it. Typing forgives accents, capital letters and small slips, and it knows names like Ivory Coast. Level 1 starts with 8 famous flags and three choices. Later levels bring more flags, more choices and look-alike colors.

How to play

  1. Open the game and choose Pick or Type. Then choose the whole World or a region: Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe or Oceania. Pick a level too.
  2. A flag appears. In Pick, tap the country's name from the choices, or press 1 to 6 on a keyboard.
  3. In Type, write the name and press Enter or tap Go. Suggestions show as you type, and a name that is not a country costs nothing.
  4. A wrong answer costs one of your 3 hearts. Not sure? Tap I don't know to move on, which also costs a heart.
  5. Clear every flag with a heart left to win the round. A win opens the next level. Your score grows with a streak and with hearts left.
  6. At the end a card lists the flags to learn. Esc or P pauses, and if you reload the page you come back to the same flag.
