Sugar Block Works

Drop candies onto the board. Fill a row or a column and it bursts, then everything above falls into the gap — and if that completes another line, it goes too. That cascade is why I built this. No timer. Nothing falls on its own. Take as long as you like.

Free to play, all of it

$4.99 once to remove the ads. That is the whole paywall. Everything else, ever, is free.

How this differs

  • Most block puzzleslives, timers, coin bundles for real money
  • Coins hereearned by playing, never sold
  • Every critter, hat and outfitunlocked by playing
  • Sugar Block Worksfree, or $4.99 once for no ads

Filling the board is not a failure. It gets you balloons, and I like that rule.

Meet your crew

Three confectioners work the floor below your board. I gave each one a different way of earning their keep.

  • Taffy the Dolphin — charges on combos. Chain three and she starts spinning; tap her and she belly-flops the board, washing out everything where she lands.
  • Nougat the Llama — hauls in a jumbo five-block, already turned so it fits, no questions asked.
  • Marsh the Sloth — the slowest of the three and the only one licensed for explosives. His glitter bomb blows a hole clean through a jammed corner, unhurried.

The pasture

Everything you clear gets flung up to the rainbow road, where Nugget the Chicken, Sundae the Unicorn, Pip the Llama and Crumbs the Cupcake graze it. Feed them enough and they pay you in coins. A ladybug runs the loop-the-loop. Crumbs will not stop talking, and I would not change a word of it.

And then there is Duke

Duke is a pineapple in a deck chair. He does not work here. He has never worked here. When you land a combo he floats in from the side of the board, tells you he has seen worse, and floats out again. Rico, a taco in an avocado armchair, turns up for the bigger ones and agrees with whatever Duke just said. Nobody hired them. Nobody can make them leave. I tried, early on. I have made my peace with it.

Also in the box

  • Daily challenge — the same board for everyone, everywhere, every day. Build a streak.
  • Undo, bomb and reroll — for when you paint yourself into a corner. I reach for reroll more than I would like to admit.
  • Game Center — leaderboards and achievements.
  • Plays offline — forever, with no account.

Questions

Is there a timer?

No. Nothing falls on its own and nothing runs out. The board only changes when you place a piece, on your schedule, not mine.

Can I buy coins?

No. Coins are earned by playing and buy power-ups only. They are never sold for money. Not here.

What does the $4.99 buy?

It removes the ads. That is the whole purchase, it happens once, and everything else in the game was already yours.
